NEW Engineered Timber Products

Since beginning to stock LSL Rim-board in 2011, MBM have been offering 29mm LSL product to the timber frame and floor cassette manufacturing markets.

Engineered Products manager Andrew Caldwell commented that they have seen an increasing number of manufacturers switch away from using products such as LVL and Glulam and start using LSL as a cost saving alternative. He added that "a number of customers have commented on how the LSL rim-board has helped them stay competitive in an increasingly tough marketplace. We think that LSL rim-board saves customers a minimum of 20% on their rim-board material when compared to Glulam or LVL. In some cases it has saved customers over 50% on their rim-board material".

29mm LSL isn't just cost competitive. It has the highest vertical load capacity, holds a TRADA Q-Mark and has fire certificates for 30/60/90 minutes.

MBM are now stocking LSL rim-board in depths to match all i-joists and open-web joists.
