MBM Forest Products began operating in 1966 as a bulk importer and nationwide distributor of Canadian Forest Products. To mark this event in the UK Timber industry, the then Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, presided over the opening of the new Terminal Operation at Newport in South Wales.

Today MBM has expanded into most of the world's softwood and panel product markets, and imports materials from Scandinavia, the Baltic region, Eastern and Central Europe, Russia, South America, the Far East, Canada and the UK.
